I Am The One Who Knocks

Two weeks into the third season of the Double Ent-Andres  is a fitting time for our league's first blog post. These first two weeks have been full of surprises, with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows; I don't think I ever received a worse report card than the one Yahoo gave me on Tuesday. There has been a noticeable slide in my wavier wire game, during Week 2 I was at least five minutes behind compared to every one else. I think this trend is directly related to Netflix...in particular Breaking Bad. Coincidently, I started the acclaimed series just as the first week was starting and it has been downhill since. Though I have to say it has been a really good show so far (have you seen the Season 4 finale yet?!).

With all that being said, Slightly Buzzed is staring down the barrel of 0-3 along with three other teams. Two things are for certain when this week concludes: At least one team will be 3-0 and at least one team will be 0-3. Seasons are never decided in Week 3, but some teams will be feeling better about themselves than others. Without further ado let's take a look at the match-ups happening in the league this weekend...

Seagrape Security (+2) vs. HOUSE HONDOR
Our only matchup between undefeated teams. House Hondor gets the slight nod (spread wise) in this game because they are currently sitting in first place and some players have some particular juicy match ups. They have filled many of the holes they had last while not missing a beat with their cattle of running backs. This team may have the steal of the draft, Percy Harvin, and one cannot knock out any team that has Peyton Manning on their roster.

Seagrape Security has arguably been the most impressive team of this young season. Despite having the last pick in the draft they have built a solid roster and find themselves in a position to finish the first three weeks undefeated. The team is led by the top fantasy running back in DeMarco Murray and has received blasts from the past performances from Mike Wallace and Antonio Gates. It will be interesting to see how far Nick Foles can take this team.

Smooth Saddles (-5.5) vs. AND I JUST WENT OFF
Smooth Saddles are favored because they are undefeated and they have several players who are on fire now, looking at you Darren Sproles. However, it will be interesting to see how the team responds to absence of Jamaal Charles who could be out for a few weeks. Can Giovanni "Don't Call Me Gio" Bernard carry the load? We'll get our first look this Sunday.

To say it has been a difficult start for AND I JUST WENT OFF would be an understatement. Week 2 alone was a massacre for them; they lost their QB 1 for what looks like the whole season, Ryan Matthews is out for at least a month, and Vernon Davis might miss this weekend. With all that said they have some players this week with upside. Jay "Which Baldwin Brother Do I Look Most Like?" Cutler is looking to carve up the Jets Swiss Cheese secondary and Sammy Watkins lived up to the hype last weekend and will be looking to do the same this weekend.

The Convicts (+3.5) vs. LASTCUPCHRIS
In the NFL there is a rematch of last season's Super Bowl and in our league there is rematch between last season's finalists. Can The Convicts find redemption? LastCupChris has not lost a step since last season and are riding a win streak of at least five or six games. It will be interesting to see if they keep asking for posts if they were to lose this weekend. LastCupChris survived the injury bug from this past weekend and are led by perhaps the best stable of running backs in da league. They are favored against the team that just changed their name. However, The Convicts have a ton of fire power and I am expecting a close, high scoring contest. I would be surprised if they lose a step even with Adrian Peterson sideline for an indefinite amount of time.

Those Magic Fingers (+2.5) vs. DICKLE PICKLE
It has been a tale of two weeks for the league's newest addition; a drumming the first week and they went on beat Less Talk More Head to a bloody pulp week two. Surprising that Yahoo has their projection so low, I think that they have solid players that could have a big week at any point (granted Brandon Marshall won't be getting 3 TDs every week). Again, I am expecting a close one here as well. Dickle Pickle, traditionally one of league's lowest scoring teams, has built a team this season that can realistically score points. They were also only less than a point away from a win this past week. It would not be a shock if this team was just to explode this week and may even lead the league in scoring for the week.

Speaking of the highest scoring teams take a look at this chart from last season.

Slightly Buzzed (PK) vs. LOADING...
A battle between two teams without a win so far. Both are desperate for that elusive W and are willing to try anything to get. LOADING... a team that is never content has already executed not one, but TWO trades. They have seen an upgrade in their roster with the additions of VJax, Knile Davis, and Brian Quick. And with a snap of a finger the team is projected for a lot of points, even without a defense slated for the week. Slightly Buzzed had no answers last week, there was nothing they could do. Their top two receivers were hobbled and it was not like there was many points left on their bench. They were absolutely helpless.

How Slightly Buzzed felt when watching their team last week. Get it? Because James Harden doesn't play D.

Slightly Buzzed has constructed a team of solid players, but they are players that can have quiet weeks. In order to beat LOADING... they are going to need to put points on the board. They are putting faith into Cam Newton this week, they also need Eddie Lacy and Alshon Jeffery to live up to the billing (especially with AJ Green most likely missing Sunday's game). When this match up is over one team will be happy and the other one will be devastated.

Fellas start your engines...Week 3 is gonna be a bumpy ride.
